Aforementioned, Daniel Wass tried his luck again from distance bringing yet another save out of Ledesma. Alas, Juan Cala made it 1-0 to Cádiz CF against the run of play pouncing on a defensive let-off at the back.
Kevin Gameiro restored parity minutes later following a fine Gonçalo Guedes move who laid it off in behind into Kevin Gameiro who tucked it away with a fine finish beyond Ledesma on 19 minutes.
The play was halted with 36 minutes on the clock, as players reacted to a racial epithet by Juan Cala towards Mouctar Diakhaby and late on, resumed upon Mouctar Diakhaby’s request who was subbed off for fellow centre-back Hugo Guillamón.
Thierry Correia hit the post after a clever Kevin Gameiro pass. Shortly after Gonçalo Guedes tried his luck but his effort flew over the crossbar.

Valencia CF kept on pushing for the winning goal through dangerous chances from Manu Vallejo who timed his run to perfection but could not quite guide it on target and then, Denis Cheryshev and then again fired it over the bar.
